The Gerald Wellburn Collection of 1927 Confederation Issue Stamps and Postal History, all neatly written up on 42 pages, offered completely intact. The collection includes mint and used stamps plus postal history of the issue. The stamps section includes mint (mix of lightly hinged and never hinged) singles and plate blocks (of 6 to 10) of every denomination, including 1c (plates 1-6), 2c (plates 1-9, 13-15), 3c (plates 1-3 in both right and left panes of each), 5c (plates 1-3, with right and left panes of plate 3), 12c (plates 1 and 2 in right and left panes). Also includes used singles and larger blocks, including a lovely block of 28 of the 12c. The postal history is varied, and includes 30 covers, with rates, usages, postmarks and more. Also includes a few ephemera items such as a large vignette proof depicting the old parliament buildings (with Canadian Bank Note imprint). A lovely collection, in Mr. Wellburn's neat style, which should be seen to be appreciated, and the whole collection is available to be seen on our website. Probably very few of Mr. Wellburn's collections remain intact and this is therefore a great opportunity to own a piece of Canadian philatelic history. Ex. Liptak collection. Rsv. (Image)
1928 King George V Scroll Issue Interesting Group, starts with 6 imperforate blocks of four, including two each of the 1c, 2c and 5c, all are sheet margin blocks, two are bottom corner blocks, two have no gum and 4 have disturbed gum. Quite fresh appearance and catalogued as all very fine hinged. Also includes a mint never hinged block of 12 of the 3c dark carmine, with part plate inscription at top, and with first stamp showing poorly wiped plate resulting in extra ink. Lastly is a vertical pair of #203 Harvesting Wheat overprint, mint never hinged, with natural gum skip. (Image)
