image Extensive Collection of Prince Edward Island Town Postmarks, all neatly displayed on pages in a thick album, starts with a group of Lot Number postmarks on about 28 Small Queens and a few other issues (including a Lot 57 wax seal), followed by an alphabetically sorted collection including stamps, stamps on piece, covers and cards, from Small Queens to the 1930s (plus a few more modern), noting 92 covers (mostly Queen Victoria era, with many Charlottetown), many Small Queen stamps with rare or closed offices, representing about 140 offices in all. Also includes a stamp collection (mostly mint, includes an imperforate pair of the 4d black). A very nice collection which would have taken a long time to assemble. Mostly all in the Small Queen period, but also includes other issues up to the Edwards and includes about 130 covers / cards, plus many stamps and on-piece items. The collection also contains other Manitoba postmarks such as a Lower Fort Garry, Portage la Prairie, Strathclair Station, and more. image Extensive Lifetime Collection of Winnipeg Squared Circle Postmarks, 1893 to 1898, all neatly displayed and described on pages filling five thick binders, arranged chronologically (basically a calendar collection). We note different hammers, advanced time mark and period studies, usages and much more. The owner counted a total of about 2,432 stamps (1,975 SQ from ½c to 10c, 323 Jubilees from 1c to 50c and 134 QV from ½c to 5c) plus 241 covers and cards (including advertising, etc), representing a total of 1,205 different days in the 6 year period covered. The great majority of the postmarks shown are fully dated and good strikes and we noted a nice cover with a 1c Strand of Hair variety. A rare opportunity to acquire such an extensive collection, see online scans for a small glimpse. (Image)

image Extensive Lifetime Collection of Squared Circle Cancellations, all neatly displayed and described on pages in five binders. The first binder includes Precursors (x37) and Type I squared circles (x106) and the rest of the binders includes Type II (x 1,124) sorted by town and province, with a total of 190 different hammers. Owner counted about 300 covers, and we estimate there to be several hundreds of stamps. Also includes a specialized collection of Morden Manitoba squared circle cancels. An advanced collection, with many rarer items, indicia varieties, advertising covers, with many covers still priced in the $20 to $50 range and every binder starts with a checklist of hammers it includes. The strikes range from full to partial but identifiable. See scans for a small idea, but we recommend careful viewing to better appreciate the value involved. (Image)

image Lovely Collection of 4-Ring Numerals on Large Queen Stamps, with a total of 35 stamps. Identified by owner as being #s 2 (in blue green on 1c brown red, 2c and 6c), 7 (on 3c), 15 (on 2c), 19 (on two 1c brown reds and a 3c), 24 (on a 1c yellow orange), 26 (on a 3c), 27 (on a 1c brown red, 2c, two shades of 3c, 6c, 12½c, and two shades of 15c), 29 (on 3c), 32 (on 2c), 34 (on 3c), 37 (on 2c), 44 (on 3c), 45 (in blue on 3c), 47 (on 3c), 49 (on 3c), 52 (on 3c), 516 (on 1c deep orange) and 627 (on 2c, 3c and 6c). Also includes a fake #48 on 3c, with pink 2012 Greene Foundation certificate explaining how a #18 was modified into a #48. Lastly, a 3c with a cancel resembling a small 4-ring numeral cancel, a 3c with a 2-ring numeral 32 resembling a 4-ring (numbers are smaller) and a 1c with a plugged-up 2-ring 1. A very nice collection, with easily readable and sometimes crisp cancels on fine to very fine stamps. All are scanned online. (Image)
