image 1918 Aero Club of Canada Toronto to Ottawa Flight Cover, mailed Toronto (duplex dated 11pm, SEP.3.1918) and addressed to Ottawa, franked only with a CLP2 (tied by duplex). There are Dead Letter Office datestamps from both Ottawa and Toronto, plus an oval TORONTO / CANADA datestamp in purple dated SEP.5.1918, the day the flight happened. There is evidence the cover would have been flown to Ottawa on this first flight, as the Dead Letter Office datestamps are dated Ottawa SEP.5. Faults, including tears and tape, and the stamp was creased prior to being attached, still a rare flight cover, accompanied by a 2008 PF certificate. Rsv. (Image)
