image 1860 5c Domestic Rate Cover, mailed from Harrowsmith U.C (double broken circle in red dated JY 5, 1860 and earliest recorded date) to Whitby, with same day Kingston U.C transit on back in red. The cover is franked with a strip of three plus two singles of the 1c rose Queen Victoria, cancelled with 6 strikes of an italic and serifed "PAID" handstamp in red, plus another free strike (just to make sure). Edge faults, still a striking cover. (Image)
