image Lovely Mint Never Hinged Collection, 1945 to 1986, all neatly displayed in a hingeless Marini album. We only saw one missing stamp, and it is a phosphor variety, so complete in period for regular issues, including souvenir sheets, etc, as listed by Marini. The regular stamp period from 1945 to 1955 alone catalogues $3,437. We noted a few early stamps with expert signatures (usually Enzo Diena) and one (#518) with a Raybaudi certificate. The back of the book section is complete in period (cat $2,016) except for #Q61-76 which have been lotted separately. J74-J76 are accompanied by a 2004 Carraro certificate, QY1-QY4, QY8 and QY10 are accompanied by two Raybaudi certificates. We noted a few used stamps in the back of the book which are used, being some of the J54-64 set plus Q45-48. A very nice and fresh collection with a very high catalogue value. (Image)

image Lot of Retired Dealer Stock, with hundreds of mint and used singles and sets from all eras, mostly in priced and identified 102 cards or in stock sheets. Many cards are priced in the $20 to $100s or more range so high total catalogue value, unchecked by us for accuracy of the identification or prices, so inspection is recommended. Quality is overall good, with some faults in the earlier material, online scans only show a portion of the lot. This lot includes Italy, San Marino, Italian States, Somalia, and a few more. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection Mounted on Pages, 1862 to 1980s, with probably over 200 pages in all, with a mix of used and mint (many never hinged throughout, especially in the modern material), and often one of each, with some duplication. We note several expensive singles and sets, including early issues, noting #s 268-279 ($140), 349-354 ($287), 359-366 ($140), 367-376 ($166), 477 (NH, $400), 495-506 ($191), 515-17 (NH, $90), 518 (NH, $225), B26-33 ($130) just to name a few, and contains loads of sets in the $20 to $60 range, both mint and used. Noted many nice postmarks, and used multiples and blocks, a number of new issue pamphlets from the 60s and 70s, etc. Back of the book was lotted separately, but includes some semi-postals. Noted some apparently Fournier forgeries of #s 17-20 (MNH, embossed). Overall nice quality. (Image)

image Extensive Collection of Offices, Colonies, Various Overprints, Revenues, etc. all mounted on about 200 pages with a good variety of material, mixed mint and used. We note many pages of Italian Socialist Republic never hinged sheets (mostly split into four), lots of Aegean Islands (including mint sets), lots of Italian Offices, Italian Colonies, Italian East Africa, AMG and Sicily issues, and more overprinted issues. These contain many $100 or more sets, and we have not checked for hinging, which would double or triple the values. This lot also contains many pages of seldom seen revenues, labels, cinderellas, propaganda labels, locals, a group of documents with revenues from the 1960s, and more. A unique opportunity to acquire such scarce material all in one lot, see scans for a taste of many of the categories mentioned, recommend viewing in order to better appreciate the value of this lot. image Extensive Collection of Back of the Book, intact as received with mostly all mint, but includes many used and many never hinged throughout. The collection contains air mails (Scott $5,415 mint and used counted up to 1946 only), special delivery (Scott $531, all mint and used counted), semi postals, officials, parcel post, pneumatic post, newspaper issue and postage dues all come to Scott $4,364. A page of used postage dues, parcel post, etc catalogues $540. We only counted the stamps on the 13 double-sided scanned black stock sheets, and there is an extra 44 pages full of duplicated mint and used stamps from the above categories, so the total catalogue value would be much higher. Many high value stamps included such as CO2 (mint, $875), B1-4 (mint $67), B9-13 (five different mint stamps, $1,485), B17-19 (mint, $97), C48 and C49 (two mint strips of each, $370), C13,16,17 (reprinted in 1942 as pairs with labels, these with browned gum, footnote $1,400), J21-24 (mint never hinged, $865), J2 (used, $90), J25-26 (mint, $655), Q1-Q6 (mint, $448), a 1933 Graf Zeppelin sheet of 16 vignettes with original folder, sold at the time for 2L, just to name a very few. The collection is nearly complete and loaded with complete sets, etc. See scans for some of the better material, taking into account all the extra pages of uncounted material included. A nice lot, seldom offered as such. (Image)

image Impressive Collection of Stamps and Covers, 1871 to 1980s, with several hundreds of stamps and over 250 covers and cards, all mounted on over 300 pages. Strong in the early first issues of the 1870s to 1890s, on dozens of pages, with lots of duplication but also some postmark interest as well as many identified forgeries, from Spiro, for example, shades, etc. Note a group of articles on how to distinguish early stamps of Japan, notably forgeries. The remaining stamps feature some Parks issues in souvenir sheets, a few with their folders and some singles in sets franking covers. The covers include registered, many mailed to Canada and the US, first day covers (1940s to 1970s), a 1929 first flight forgery with certificate and many stationery cards, some postmarked but unmailed. Also note a tourist souvenir book marked “Collection of Japanese Postage Stamps” when unfolded shows 19th century used stamps and post cards. In essence a good variety of material, with a high catalogue value (note some $50 or more early mint issues, early issues unchecked but ought to be useful) and worth a close look. A few scans online will give a taste. (Image)

image Collection of Mint and Used Stamps Plus Covers, 1912 to 1980s, all mounted on hundreds of pages. The stamps appear complete (or nearly) in period, including back of the book. Most of the collection is mint (with perhaps 20% never hinged) plus some used. Of note are the following mint items, hinged unless noted otherwise #1-3 (NH, $900), 82-89 ($435), 94-107 ($681), 111-113 ($63), 116-129 ($91), 151a (NH, $70), 238 (NH, $110), O1-O8 ($448), B1-3 ($52), B4-6 ($71), B7-10 ($104), B11-13 ($80), B14 (NH, $60), B19-21 ($30), C1-6 ($175), C7-8 ($210), C9-13 ($151), C14 ($40), C15-16 ($70), C24-33 ($65). These are just a small portion of the collection and the total catalogue value should be quite high. Noted souvenir sheets, imperforate blocks, some misperforated stamps and more.
