image Old Time Cover Accumulation, with hundreds of covers from about 1880 to 1950s, many mounted on old ledger pages using old adhesive paper tape, but also many were never mounted and very fine. Saw Newfoundland, various rates, postal cards, postmark interest including many small town PEI, squared circles, airmails, registered, censored, RPOs, flags, illustrated, etc. Most are #8 size and pre-1950s with some newer added by a later collector. Also includes 4 semi-official airmails on cover, franked with CL13, CL14, CL18, CL19 with small tape marks. Mixed condition and we have scanned some items but recommend viewing to better appreciate the contents. (Image)

image Two Lovely ca. 1870s American and Dominion Express Covers, the American Express cover was mailed Woodstock to Oshawa and the Dominion Express cover was mailed Sudbury to Toronto. Both covers have two green wax seals from their respective companies, opening faults, still quite presentable and scarce. (Image)

image Group of 185 "FREE" and Governmental Covers, ranging from a 1862 Québec "Crowned" postmark on cover to Toronto (tear) to the 1960s. About 27 are dated before 1918, with 1864 Québec "CLD" Free, 1883 Ottawa FREE duplex, FREE c.d.s. with various departmental signatures and a few registered. Also a great variety of mail with House of Commons c.d.s., including some earlier ones, various FREE machine cancels, Senate or House of Commons meters, Embassy covers, and much more. image 1929 Cross-Border Express Company Cover, being a large cover mailed to Henry J. Morgan in Ottawa with a green label "UNITED STATES / Express Co. / FROM / HIGHLAND BEACH, J. J." with a "4" manuscript in red marker. There is a handstamp in purple reading "AM. EX. CO. / NEW YORK". Received in Ottawa by a purple handstamp reading "Canadian Express / SEP 22 1929 / J.S. Allen, Agent / Ottawa, Ont.". Faults, still interesting and a late example of cross-border multi-express companies cover. (Image)

image Group of 13 Inter-Provincial Maritimes Covers and Folded Letters, 1850 to 1871, with two from PEI franked with perforated 3d blue (one to NS 1871 and one to NB 1865), an 1858 stampless cover from PEI to NS (interesting "3cD" rate handstamp). Also another 10 stampless inter-provincial covers or letters, to or from PEI, NS, NB, ON, PQ and Newfoundland (x2). image Interesting and Diverse Group of 170 Older Covers and Cards, from Small Queens to the 1940s, with a wide variety of interests but includes many RPO selected covers (with many SQ and QV covers, and mostly identified by owner as per RPO), a group of smaller New Brunswick town postmarks, a nice Montreal "X1" experimental machine cover, a handful of Admiral rate covers (mostly combination frankings on larger covers), some better picture postcards, two DLO items including one Returned for War Tax PPC, many registered covers and rates, perfins, illustrated advertising covers, a group of early stationery cards including a UPU card to Switzerland, two 1876 uprated cards to the US (one of these with a partial 2-ring #58), a group of flag cancels, a group of stationery covers, lots of postmark interest, and much more. We note an early view of Québec City mailed in August 1899, some with stamp on view side, some real photos, most were mailed to France, Belgium, etc. Also includes a group of 26 other picture post cards to the 1960s, either not mailed or mailed to foreign destinations such as Holland, Czechoslovakia, France, Belgium and Switzerland. image Group of Four Re-Used WWII Covers, all dated between 1938 and 1945, and each has been used twice to help save paper during the war. One has a label reading "Re-use this envelope... paper is a munition of War" (bilingual) which was wrapped around the cover so it covers the old address, with an OHMS perfin added and new address, other three each were re-mailed in different ways, but all for the same purpose. An interesting group, with a few faults, still fine or better. (Image)
