image Group of Three Better First Day Covers, all three cancelled with Diamond Jubilee flag machines on the first day of issue of the stamps, and retail priced to sell at a total of $480. One is franked with a #CL41 (just barely tied by the Maple Leaf cachet in blue), which was valid for use for only one day, franked with a pair of #141 tied by Winnipeg flag (CL41 on cover catalogues $375 in Unitrade). Second is franked with a #142, tied by very scarce Vancouver Type 43-6 flag (used for only three days). Third is franked with #s 143 and 144, tied by Halifax Diamond Jubilee flag Type 43-3. image 1860 2½d dull rose Queen Victoria Perforated 14 on Folded Cover, addressed to Victoria, this folded cover (no contents) is addressed to Victoria V.I. and has a light circular B.C. Express handstamp at top right. The stamp is not tied by a postmark, but apparently belongs to the cover, as attested by an accompanying 2018 Greene Foundation certificate stating that the stamp "is tied to cover by a coloured crease". The cover is franked with a 10c and two 2c Queen Victoria issues, each with fresh colour and tied by small oval grids. The back of the cover has four datestamps: W.O.Douglastown NB (JUN.20.1864), Chatham NB (JUN.20.1864), Saint John NB JUN.21) and St Johns Newfoundland receiver (JUN.21). Vertical file fold away from stamps, and a very fine inter-provincial cover. (Image)

Upon arrival it received a "NOT FOUND" straightline handstamp plus an "ADV / JUL 6 / 1866" in small square. The cover is franked with a 10c vermilion Queen Victoria. image Group of Four NB Cents Issue Covers, 1860 to 1868, three are franked with a single 5c (to Rivière du Loup QC, Yarmouth NS and Wolfville NS) and one is franked with a single 10c (to Boston, Mass., very fine). The 5c cover mailed to Rivière du Loup has its stamp tied by a very fine strike of the #9 in oval grid (Grand Falls, RF 4). image Collection of Nova Scotia 5c Frankings, with 7 covers or folded letters, 6 of which were used after Confederation. We note 5 single frankings and two double frankings, a nice JUL.23.1867 Halifax embossed advertising cover for a dealer of crockery and glasswares, a 5c franking from Halifax to Cape Breton mailed in June 1868 with handstamp "5" indicating more to pay, One of the three remaining 5c single frankings is addressed to Toronto then redirected. A double franked cover mailed from Lawrence Town (FEB.24.1868) to Bridgetown, and finally an 1865 folded cover franked with a pair of 5c to Newfoundland (St John's JAN.25.1865 receiver). Mixed condition, still overall fine and an interesting group showing examples of acceptance of NS stamps after Confederation. All are scanned online. (Image)
