image Antique Cast Iron and Brass Post Office Balance Counter Scale, circa late 1800s to early 1900s, from the Burrow Stewart and Milne foundry company in Hamilton Ontario, featuring the Canada Post Office (Canada P.O.) and crown (GR) markings. The body is cast iron with one solid brass beam and sliding weight. One tray is flat and made of cast iron while the other one is curved and made of copper indicating that its primary function was to weigh newspapers. Scale is showing signs of wear, with what appears to be original paint, missing in spots and showing some oxidation. Great addition for the postal artifact collector, or to decorate a stamp den. image Rare Antique Metal Letter Box, circa 1920s, showing no significant signs of wear or age, with what appears to be all its original parts including the protective cover (lion’s paw) for the lock. Mailbox may not have original paint, but this does not detract from the overall great appearance. Seldom offered for auction and would be a great showpiece for any stamp den. (Image)

image Canada Post Office Air Mail Bag, inscribed "1950" featuring the George VI crown and inscribed "Canada Air Mail A-12". The bag is made of a softer material leading us to believe that it was used in a sorting room and not necessarily transported. image Canada Post Booklet Dispenser, from the late 1970s to early 1980s, in great condition with minor rust spots and light surface scratches. This dispenser was designed to be wall mounted and is made of sturdy metal. We note that this unit comes with one key but requires another key to open the front panel. All instructions and branding is bilingual. Despite the fact that this dispenser is about 40 years old, it is not often offered for auction, especially in this nice condition, and would be a great item for the postal artifact collector, or displayed in a stamp den. image Canada Post Office Hand Operated Canceling Machine, from 1971 to 2000, model HD-2, manufactured by the International Peripheral Systems company (I.P.S.). The machine is in good working condition with the dater hub indicating it was previously used by the Wakefield post office in the province of Québec (see photo of impression made by machine). Prior to 1971, small post offices were not usually supplied with canceling machines. Mail from these offices was cancelled with handstamps. In 1971, Canada Post Office began supplying them with the hand-driven Model HD-2 IPS canceling machines. Over 400 post offices eventually received the Model HD-2. This lot will not be shipped due to its weight. These machines are rarely offered for auction in this condition. (Image)
