1898 2c Lavender Map Imperforate, a center cross block of 16, with cross measuring 4mm, without gum as issued, affixed to a thick (1/8 inch) card. This is from plate 5, second state which is identified by the doubling that occurs on positions 44, 54 and 64. An exceptional and unique showpiece, with only 12 blocks of four thought to exist, this being the largest imperforate block we know of, extremely fine. Catalogue value is for an imperforate center cross block of 4 plus 6 pairs. The ultimate item for the Map issue collector.
