89 image 1831 O-113 (R4) near XF lovely original. A beautiful example of this issue were it not for two rev pin scratches traversing the eagle in the shape of an X. Virtually invisible w/o magnification, the scratches occurred long ago and do not interfere w/ the coin's natural grey color. For the 1831 Bust Half, author Don Parsley (who wrote the later editions of Al Overton's authoritative reference on Bust Halves) states: " . . . . . well-struck, well-preserved specimens of this date are not common." The added scarcity of the O-113 variety should make this offering even more appealing. (Image) (imageb)

99 image 1888 AU+ A few marks consistent w/ the grade o/w white and attractive. An excellent coin for this scarce issue with mintage of only 12,001. Some experts suggest that the 1888 is the easiest to obtain from the low-mintage years 1879 - 1890. (Image) (imageb)
