Internet / Mail Bid Auction - May 8, 2019

This month’s Internet Collector’s Sale includes over 4200 lots with estimates of over £450,000. There are hundreds of single country lots collections and singles as received by our vendors. From Aden to Zululand this mail bid / internet sale offers very large sections across the globe, including British Commonwealth, Europe, Asia, Great Britain, North, Central and South Americas and The Middle East. Highlights include:
  • An original Fournier Forgery Album broken into single country lots. Only 480 of these albums were made so this is a scarce opportunity to buy something different for your collection.
  • Great Britain; a plated collection of 1856 1d red Stars each offered by plate numbers in a partial reconstruction for each plate. The entire collection catalogued by Stanley Gibbons at over £120,000. Officials including 1882-1901 I.R. OFFICIAL opt QV £1 green fine used (Cat £3750). QV 10s ultramarine Inland Revenue fine used (cat £3750).
  • Great Britain 1944 German Propaganda Forgeries for Coronation and Jubilee designs both on a rare and never seen printed sheet.
  • The scarce Algeria postal due provisional of 1918 cat €20,000. Fantastic Italian states including Parma premium examples. Great Britain including mint original gum Queen Victoria issues.
  • Germany including a superb collection catalogues €13,000 in Michel with many nice key stamps and Occupation Issues of ZARA 1943 rare postal history cat €10,000.
  • Ireland collection with many key stamps in an attractive album retail in excess of €2000. Thai Occupation of Kelantan Handstamped with state arms rare issues. Scarce New Zealand Postal Fiscals key stamps from George Sixth including Postal Fiscals: 1948 £3.10s rose SG Catalogue £3,500.
  • Superb Mauritius classics with many singles with premium margins and condition. Superb Italy with many key sets and singles including 1923 Manzoni complete set of 6 fine used (cat €5250). Saar key Flood Relief Miniature sheets (Cat €5500).
  • United States including 1894-1969 A desirable mainly mint and unmounted mint (odd used) collection in a well filled Lindner hingeless album Scott catalogue $7600. British Commonwealth including a Gibraltar George 5th £5 top value mint (cat £1600), Falkland Islands 1933 Centenary of British Administration £1 black and carmine (cat £2500 mint).
  • Israel two enormous collection of Jewish National Fund issues in blocks and multiples, huge amount of material.
