Internet, Mail, Phone and Fax Sale 3090 - March 2, 2022

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, March 02, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 678 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are about (90) U.S. lots, several nice Classics; highlighting catalog nos. 31, 67, and 121. Also, there are a few Banknotes including a no. 205 NH; a few (about 21) Exposition and 1890's Regular issues. Also, just a few lots (25) of Washington Franklins and late1920's issues. You can also find a nice variety of 1930 to Date, with about 1/2 dozen Graded issues with PSE certificates.
  • COVERS, There are (48) Cover lots - (21) Commercial, and (27) First Day Covers that include several hand-painted items and some seldom offered cachet artists.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, Contains (39) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues, including a set of C1-6 worthy of consideration and several nice Parcel Post Postage Due issues.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (20) Lots of EFO's are offered. Notably a 1715b, 13¢ BUTTERFLIES, PLATE BLOCK OF 4, NO. 37830 and 37831, MAJOR ERROR, IMPERFORATE HORIZONTALLY, ONLY (2) BLOCKS OF 4 KNOWN. This is an exceptionally interesting piece!

  • U.S. POSSESSIONS, over (30) lots with issues from Confederacy, Canal Zone (25) that includes an OG no. 1u; rounding out with Cuba, Hawaii local post, Ryukyu Islands, and a United Nations lot.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, includes (207) lots from a variety of countries with Canada, the French colony of Chad C84var Imperforate Block of 25, Peoples Republic of China, Germany and Great Britain well represented. There are some must see items here for the Foreign collector, preeminently a commercial cover franked with 2pf-1m 1948 BERLIN OVERPRINT ISSUES. Also for consideration is a US Possessions collection, American Bank Note Archive Series 1988-1992, and a World Wide American Bicentennial Collection.

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (4) Autograph lots all Postmaster Generals in various administrations; 1989 World Exposition souvenir booklets, Lundy Island material and a couple USPS collateral items.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS, PRINTS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (232) lots, which includes (2) Federal Duck Collections to be considered, several Souvenir Cards, along with Federal and State issues on FDC's (9), including a few Milford hand-painted States. There are (3) Junior Duck stamp lots and (19) Plate Number Singles - We hope you find the one to complete this portion of your collection! There are (88) Federal lots, (3) Mini-sheets, and (23) Errors; one of which is a 1986 FULVOUS WHISTLING DUCK, MAJOR ERROR AND VARIETY STUDY of (6) one normal, four black engraved shifts, and a black engraved missing stamp, of which approximately 60 are known. For the Press sheet collector, we have a selection of (4) lots of various configurations. Also, we have (33) Artist Signed Federal and State stamps, to help fill out your signature collection. There are a variety of State duck stamps (13), Governor's Editions (6), and a few Conservation/Hunting stamps (7). To finish the sale, you will find (17) Federal, State and Conservation Duck Prints, that includes RW1 TRIAL PROOF, signed by artist J.N. "Ding" Darling, only three known; (12) State prints, with a concentration in Geese and Pintails, and (4) Conservation/Fishing prints. A good variety from which to select.
