Sam Houston Philatelics Sale - 3076

Auction - September 23, 2020

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains almost 750 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike, including a selection of graded items in US, B.O.B and Federal Duck stamps. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • UNITED STATES, There are about (105) U.S. lots, with (36) Early Issues, including an extremely scarce no. 142 with an "H" Grill and geometric fancy cancel. There are (28) lots of Exposition and Bureau Issues (Columbian through Pan-Pacific) with a no. 242 Used, with certificate. The late 1890's and early 20th Century issues total (29) lots, with a nice no. 579 Coil Waste Top Plate Block of 6, with star no. 15497. The 1930 to Date section has (12) lots, including a few Graded GEMS!

  • COVERS, There are (28) Cover and First Day Cover lots; the majority being First Dave Covers. A nice selection of covers.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains (54) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues. There are some very nice examples here.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, about (27) lots with a selection of Imperforates, Mis-perforations, color shifts, and includes a no. 395 (4¢ Coil Guide Line Pair with printing ink smear), as well as some other interesting items.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, (253) lots from a variety of countries, including Austria, British Antarctic Territory, Canada, People's Republic of China, Falkland Islands, Germany, Greece (including Greece 117-128 Olympics, complete set of 12, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, a Netherlands 142-60 set of Definitives, Russia 616Ab Imperf Bottom Margin single, plus several other countries. There is a U.S. lot of about (1,000) stamps neatly arranged on stockpages with Scott catalog estimate of $5,700. You will also find a nice Australia collection of 351//O12 multiples, an extensive Indonesia collection of 1//119, C1//C61, CE//O24, Netherlands 1968-1978 Collection, and many more!

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (14) assorted Autograph items. Astronauts, Baseball, and NASA autographs, just to name a few!

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (240) lots, which include (14) Souvenir Cards, (16) Licenses, (4) Federal FDC's, (3) Federal and (16) Junior Duck stamps (including four artist signed), (31) Plate Number Singles, (170) Federal Duck issues, including (6) Graded; (6) Mini-sheets, (4) Press Sheet items, (22) Duck Errors, and about (26) Federal and State Artist Signed; a selection of (5) State duck stamps, (9) Governor's Edition lots, and (3) Conservation and Fishing items. The sale ends with a selection of (10) prints; one JDS1 print - first issue, (4) Federal, including an RW28 with hunter signed stamp, (3) State Duck Prints, with an IN1 First of State print, (2) Foreign duck prints, and (1) National Wild Turkey Federation 1976 First of Society Conservation print. A very nice selection of prints here!
