Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, April 3, 2019
at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains over 600 lots, with material
in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers
alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
UNITED STATES, There are about (90) U.S. lots, with approximately (20)
Classics and Banknotes, including a rare 2(B) double transfer variety, nos.
19 & 28A; a few (4) Columbians and early Commemoratives. There are about
(20) Washington-Franklins, including a lovely no. 350 coil Guine Line Pair.
Also, about (10) 1920 Commemorative and Kansas/Nebraska Overprints; and
over (30) 1930 to Date with a large selection graded issues, including a
few GEM 100.
COVERS, a nice selection of about (45) lots with a few (7) Commercial
covers, and mostly (40) FDC covers.
AIRMAIL & BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (25) lots of Airmails and
BOB, with a very nice C14 $1.30 Zeppelin; a few Newspaper issues, nice
distilled spirits and plate proof lots - interesting selection.
ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, about (20) lots with interesting selections
of color varieties and shifts, perforation faults and other types of EFO's,
with a beautiful copy of 1906b - imperforate plate no. strip/6 error, and
newly discovered error for U584 (energy conservation/development) with ALL
colors missing.
GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, over (50) lots from a variety of
countries, including several PRC, Great Britain and Japanese lots.; along
with very nice Argentina and French Africa country collections, and other
country and topical collections.
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, a few lots of miscellaneous and Cinderella
items (3). Also, a few autographs (14) with a group of autographs of Nobel
Laureates, distinguished Ace Fighter Pilots and a number of entertainers.
DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior & State) contains
approximately (380) lots; including (9) collections, covers, licenses and
collateral material, (17) Junior Ducks, including artist signed, (43)
PNS's, and (120) Federal singles, Mini-sheets (9), Press Sheets (11),
Artist Signed (27 Federal & 14 State), Duck EFO's (about 20) to review.
Also, about (50) State items, (20) Governor Editions and (30) Conservation
and Fishing issues.
