Public Auction: Rare Worldwide Stamps and Postal History - June 10-11, 2016

The Sale contains 1414 lots of Rare Collectible Stamps and Postal History of the World, representing the property of 44 owners, including the Jay T. Carrigan Collections of Carpatho-Ukraine, and The Liberation of Yugoslavia and Post-World War II-Provisional Issues.

The Auction includes:

  • One of the best ever formed Collection of Carpatho-Ukraine of 1944-45, which received several Gold Awards of American Philatelic Exhibitions and Shows. The 10-Frame Collection is presented by 171 valuable single and group lots;
  • The Liberation of Yugoslavia and Post-World War II Provisional Issues Collection, representing provisional stamps of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia as parts of future Yugoslavia, and occupation of Italy items;
  • USA - Modern errors and varieties, Zeppelin issue, Pioneer Flight covers;
  • Nice selection of Great Britain and Early British Commonwealth, including:

    • Imperial Postage Stamps and Postal History, showing nice range of early stamps and stationery items, group of positional blocks and strips with marginal control markings and plate numbers, beautiful errors and varieties;
    • Soviet Union representing first class rarities, numerous blocks of four, especially from 1930's, such as Karl Marx, Spartacist Games, imperforated blocks of 7k from 10th Anniversary of the October Revolution on ordinary and watermarked paper, Red Army soldier 8k brown, Ivan Fedorov 20k and 40k, perforation and plate varieties of 1940's-90's with imperforated rarities, such as Vladimir Dahl of 1976;
