1861-67 ISSUE ESSAY, 3c GREEN & GOLD MAP OF THE UNITED STATES ROULETTED, "3" IN GOLD, ESSAY ON THICK WHITE PAPER, #79-E7, slightly trimmed vertically at bottom right, proposed design by an unknown artist/designer showing top label with the denomination, vignette with the 1867 era map of the United States and with "UNITED STATES" in matching green and "3" in gold over the map, bottom label with 'POSTAL SERVICE", map quite detailed as it shows rivers and mountain ranges and rare, very fine, with 2014 Philatelic Foundation cert. (showing the stamp before the slight trimming), a most attractive suggested design for the 3-cent 1861-67 issue, cat. $8,500.00....$3,500
