Collections and Accumulations
Lot Sym. Lot Description
5525   Cancellation Collection and Accumulation. SOLD for $375.00
Will close during Public Auction

5531 og "Investment" Portfolio. Over 30 items purchased by the owner from several different sources for over $20,000, incl. 3c 1861, 1c-50c Columbian, 1c-$2.00 Trans-Mississippi, 25c Honey Bee error No. 2281b, 1c Jefferson coil pair freak centering, four 1984 Kittinger Trans-Atlantic Balloon Flight covers (2,992 carried) and four Angola 15k Dale Earnhart sheetlets of twelve (two each perf and imperforate), condition is all over the place and the cost bears no relation to real values, for example the 25c Honey Bee Error which catalogs $50.00 was sold to the investor for $1,500, the souvenir balloon covers at $600.00 each, the freak perforated 1c Jefferson coil (retail maybe $5 to $10) for $1,100, the $2.00 Trans-Mississippi (original gum, perfs close to touch) for $4,900 as the "Error in Clouds" variety and so on -- the philatelic equivalent of sub-prime mortgage bonds and credit-default swaps -- this lot should really be used as evidence in the indictment of the source E. 1,500-2,000

SOLD for $1,500.00
Will close during Public Auction
