PATRIOTIC COVER HAS A CLEAR STRIKE OF THE RARE HICKMAN DATESTAMP AND AN EXPLICIT ENDORSEMENT FROM ONE OF THE OFFICERS IN GENERAL PILLOW'S INVASION FORCE. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING CONFEDERATE KENTUCKY COVERS KNOWN. General Pillow moved on
Hickman and Columbus on September 3, 1861. This early occupation usage bears the official endorsement of Lieut. John dee Mitchell of the Quartermaster's Department with Gen. Pillow's army. The combination of elements -- a patriotic, a rare
