VERY FINE. ONE OF SEVEN RECORDED 5-CENT 1856 ISSUE COVERS TO HONG KONG.

This cover was carried on the Cunarder Niagara, which departed Boston on Feb. 24, 1858, arriving in Liverpool on Mar. 9. The 5c stamp prepaid the shore-to-ship rate, and 1sh8p was collected from the addressee for the rate to Hong Kong by British Mail via Marseilles. Our census of 5c 1856 covers includes seven covers to Hong Kong. (Image)
