James Wilson, one of the Judges of the supreme court of the United States -- Philadelphia", red "1/" at upper left (its meaning is unclear since this was prepaid 3dwt), no yeardate but the straightline was used in 1790 and Wilson was appointed by George Washington as an Associate Justice to the newly-formed Supreme Court in 1789, skillfully cleaned, Very Fine appearance, unusual and scarce early postal reference to the Supreme Court (Image) E. 300-400
