Lidgate, Manager" two-line handstamp in script-like font (this is Gregory's listing example of AUXPRIAG-Hamakua[script]) on legal-size cover to Honolulu, May 15, 1900 receiving backstamp, some very minor toning, Very Fine, Lidgate served as manager of the Hamakua Mill. Co. of Paauilo, as manager of the Paauilo Store where the post office was located and as postmaster of Paauilo from 1898 to 1900, when this cover was mailed -- possibly a unique example of this handstamp, which is something between a private marking and official postmark -- ex Burns (Image) E. 1,000-1,500
