2c Von Steuben (689). Bottom left corner plate no. 20284 block of 25
with incredible freak perforations, it appears that the sheet was
creased and torn before the horizontal perfs were punched creating some
bizarre shaped imperf between "stamps", additionally there is a strip of
brown Kraft paper stuck to the back of the third and fourth columns to
repair the tear, this was subsequently perforated, eye-catching
conversation piece, it seems strange that the Bureau employee didn't just
pull this sheet and put it with other printer's waste rather than have it
go out into circulation |
