EXTREMELY FINE. A SPECTACULAR MULTIPLE OF THIS 1918 PROVISIONAL SURCHARGE RARITY. POSSIBLY THE ONLY SURVIVING MULTIPLE AMONG THE SIX EXAMPLES RECORDED BY PRIESTER.

The Priester census reports six known examples of REA134, but we do not know if another pair exists.

EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS STAMP IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THE 1918 PROVISIONAL SURCHARGE ON THE ONE-SIXTH BARREL 1914 DESIGN IN VIOLET BLUE REPORTED IN THE PRIESTER CENSUS.

The Priester census reports six of REA134 (on REA107), one of REA134a (on REA107a) and one of REA107a with the additional Ty. 210 two-line surcharge (footnoted in Scott). The -1/6bbl. Black, REA107, is valued at $2,000.00 in Scott (six known), while the Violet Blue REA107a, of which only one is reported, is valued at $2,750.00. (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE. THE FINER OF TWO EXAMPLES REPORTED IN PRIESTER CENSUS AND THE EARLIEST DATE OF USE OF THE "ACT OF 1919" SURCHARGE ON QUARTER-BARREL 1914 ISSUE. A MAGNIFICENT BEER STAMP RARITY.

This stamp was the subject of an article in the American Revenuer, May 1982. Both of the two REA137a stamps reported in Priester are Ty. 203 surcharges. (Image)
