808   1898-1900 Spanish-American War Revenues on Documents. Large collection filling a larger banker's box, more than 550 documents mostly bearing adhesive stamps (some on stamped revenue paper), full range of issues mostly from 1898 with a few from 1899-1900, some better such as R160, R180 and R189, wide variety of uses including Territorial (with Hawaii mixed frankings), large group of dual (and even triple) U.S. and foreign country frankings including G.B. and Switzerland on one document, Japan, Mexico, France, a sampling of other subjects includes mining, railroads, oil, telephone, mortgage, insurance, checks, promissory notes, imported goods through the mails, illustrated cattle brands, three for passage on steamships including a nice North German Lloyd Line steerage ticket, also a group of illegal uses with 2c Bureau regular issue stamps plus two illegal uses of "I.R." ovpt. issue and 2c Battleship attempting to pay U.S. postage (both disallowed and franked with Postage Due stamps, one is faulty), some documents with a large number of stamps from different series used together, a Wells Fargo money order with 1898 issue, many illustrated, some other scarce and unusual uses, finally a group of documents and collateral relating to the 1898 Act including text of the Act, some stamp and document flaws to be expected, overall a fascinating and extensive collection of Spanish-American War Tax revenue documents, a great many of these were purchased for $50.00 or more
