The legendary Pony Express ran for only nineteen months in 1860 and 1861, but it is perhaps the most famous of any mail service in history. The romance and harsh realities of the Pony Express are captured by the seventeen covers in the Alyeska Collection, one of the largest holdings in the world. These covers, together with other related items, will be offered by the Siegel firm on March 20, in a sale that will give collectors the opportunity to own truly extraordinary artifacts from the American West.
