VERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE COVER FRANKED TO PAY THE 10-CENT TRANSCONTINENTAL RATE PLUS THE 2-CENT SHIP CAPTAIN'S FEE.

This cover was carried on the bark Yankee, which departed Honolulu on Dec. 31, 1860, and arrived in San Francisco on Jan. 21, 1861, but it evidently missed that Monday's departure of the Butterfield overland stagecoach. It was postmarked Jan. 25 for the Friday stagecoach departure.
