VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A CHOICE TIED EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT BUCHANAN PROVISIONAL ON BLUISH PAPER -- ONLY THREE RECORDED WITH RED BALTIMORE DATESTAMP.

The Baltimore provisionals were printed first on bluish and then on white paper (the Scott catalogue reverses the chronological order). Most examples are known used with the blue Baltimore datestamp, three are known struck in red.
