The 1st session on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. will contain 375 lots and start with the "Lynn Cooper" Zeppelin cover collection of 79 lots. It will continue with Foreign and British Commonwealth singles featuring China, classic France, German Offices & Colonies, Great Britain with the 1840 Issue, very rare Australian booklets, Newfoundland with 1927 60c De Pinedo on cover, and the Rhodesia 1910 Double Heads £1 Error of Color.
The 2nd session on Friday at 5:00 p.m. will contain 910 U.S. single lots highlighted by State Postal History, 1869 Issue with Essays and the 15¢ and 24¢ "Inverted Centers", scarce Japan Offices cancels, extensive 1893 Columbian Issue with $5 usage on cover, 1898 Trans-Mississippi Issue with previously unrecorded 2¢ First Day Cover, $1 usage on a Zeppelin flight, and the very rare $2 top imprint pl. block of 4, Cat. $100,000 with sound PSE (2017) certificate. This plate block has not been offered on the open market in many decades. The first part of the "Erivan" collection was offered at World Stamp Show-NY 2016 last summer, and now we are proud to present even more highlights from this exceptional collection of US and Confederate postal history.
Rasdale Stamp Company - Worldwide Public Auction - August 19-20, 2017 We have had an extremely busy second quarter acquiring well over 100 consignments utilizing moving trucks and several trailer loads. This auction is by far the largest, physically, we have ever offered. So much material was arriving on a daily basis we cut off the consignment deadline a month early and since then warehoused 26 pallets for the November auction. There are 848 lots in the first session. There are five major estates in the sale. The largest is the “Country Club” estate which was delivered in a 26 foot truck consisting mainly of multiple collections of United States and mint singles, along with a huge pile of United States mint sheets and postage. Also included in the estate are four extensive Canada collections, two with complete Jubilee sets. The other estates are “Coaches”, an impressive Third Reich and German Zeppelin cover collection and accumulation. Then there are the “Cardinal” and “Lakeside” estates offering up a magnificent Worldwide Zeppelin cover group. Lastly, the Peninsular estate of Chinese covers rounds out the spectacular single cover section.
The second session has close to 200 lots of United States stamps. The
Worldwide section has almost 600 lots including a nice assortment of
British, German and Area, Italy and Area and Netherlands. Some of these
stamps and sets came from the major estates in the sale.
