AN EXTREMELY RARE CONTEMPORARILY USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1873 4D PERF 12½ ISSUE WITH THE "TH SAUNDERS" WATERMARK.

Robert Odenweller states in his book "The Postage Stamps of New Zealand: 1855-1873 The Chalon Head Issues" that few postally used copies the 4d unwatermarked are known and…"That is compounded even more with regard to the same stamp showing parts of the TH Saunders watermark. Very few copies are known…".
