Lot 3 - 2var, 10¢ BLACK, POS. 31R1, DOUBLE TRANSFER VARIETY, Fine-Avg, just in at bottom with blue cancel. Very dramatic double transfer shows doubling of most of the top frameline, "US", "POST OFFICE", "T" in "TEN" and some in both "X's", listed as the double transfer variety "(B)" in the Scott catalog. Sam Houston Philatelics Sale - 3094

Internet, Mail, and Phone Auction - July 20, 2022

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 540 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. In this auction, we are pleased to offer scarce RW1 through RW4 Artist Signed Duck Stamps in the Federal Duck Stamp Section. A few of the other highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are (148) U.S. lots with several nice Classics, Pictorials and Banknotes (25) highlighted by a Franklin (#1) and Washington (#2, the "B" Double Transfer variety). There are (20) Columbian lots that includes a beautiful NH 15 cent and used $1 & $2. There are a few Exposition lots (15), with several nice Trans-Mississippi. And in the 1902 Regular issues we have scarce booklet panes - #'s301c and 319q. There are (57) lots of Washington/Franklins and late 1920s issues that includes the AEF BOOKLET PANE OF 30 - 498f, ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL REGULARLY ISSUED U.S. POST OFFICE BOOKLET PANES! In the 1930 to Date section, (9) lots are offered, mostly National Parks and Prexies.
  • COVERS, There are (27) Cover lots - an interesting selection of (6) Commercial covers with (2) USS Akron flight covers and a USS Macon Crash cover, and (21) First Day Covers, of which most are premium Crosby Photo-cachets.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, Contains (49) total lots consisting of (11) Airmails, including a complete set of Graf Zeppelins (LH) and several lots of the first Air Post issues; and (38) Back of Book issues; (10) lots of interesting and scarce test stamps, test booklets and demonstration stamps.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, Includes (107) lots; (91) from about three dozen different countries; Australia, Canada, Peoples Republic of China, Falklands, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, and on to Zanzibar. There are (18) U.S. collections, (6) UN collections, (40) Foreign Country and World Wide lots, and (6) Topical collections featuring Basketball, Birds, Discovery of America and America's Bicentennial. Take a close look at these various collections! There are some really nice and rare lots here!

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (9) Autograph lots with signatures of notables in various fields, featuring President Lyndon Johnson, entertainers Stephen Dorff, Steve Guttenberg, Michael Keaton and Charlton Heston. Also, (9) lots of First Day Ceremony Programs and special event folders and poster. In the Cinderella section, we offer some 1928 Democratic Convention tickets and Arctic Air Mercy Flight stamps, interesting item. For the Sports Card collector, we have (5) lots of different Sports Cards.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS, PRINTS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (170) lots. One collection, (3) Junior Duck stamp lots, and (7) Duck Stamp Plate Number Single lots, start our Duck Stamp Section. There are (69) Federal lots with singles, Plate Blocks and a few Graded issues. You'll find (4) Mini-Sheet lots, and (16) Duck Error lots this auction, mostly shifted colors. For the Press sheet collector, we have a selection of (9) lots of various configurations, including a scarce RW72 center gutter block of 16 AND an RW73 center gutter block of 16. Also, we have (24) Artist Signed Federal and State stamps with signed RW1, RW2, RW3 and RW4 to add to your signature collection. A small variety of State Duck stamps (18), and (1) hand-signed Governor's Edition - Utah by Gov. Michael Levitt, Also, there are (12) Conservation and Fishing stamp lots. To finish the sale, we have an RW10 Federal Duck Print and (7) State Duck Prints, including (3) First of State; from Idaho, Louisiana and Washington, and a Canadian print as well.
