Mail Sale - September 18, 2019

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 626 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • UNITED STATES, There are about (120) U.S. lots, with (30) Classics and Banknotes, (10) Columbian lots, (20) 1890's Regular issues, Trans-Mississippi and Louisiana Purchase lots are offered. There are also (35) Washington-Franklins and other early 20th Century issues; and lastly about (30) 1930 to Date with a good selection of graded issues (18).

  • COVERS, (36) lots, (9) being Commercial covers, including a First Flight cover of #C2 on an "Aero Club of America" envelope with historic contents, and (27) FDC's.

  • AIRMAIL & BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains over (35) lots of Airmails and BOB. Also,an exquisite C14 Zeppelin, and a couple scarce newspapers.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (14) lots with some rare imperforates and other oddities.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, over (100) lots from a variety of countries, a couple Confederate issues, several UN & Canal Zone. Includes (90) Foreign country lots and US & Foreign collections.

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (300) lots; including (4) collections, a few licenses, about (15) FDC's and (20) PNS's, (80) Federal duck issues, (5) Mini-sheets and (7) Press Sheet items. There are over (30) issues which are Artist Signed, including (4) w/Remarques (gorgeous). About (15) EFO's, including RW60a missing engraved black, and an RW57a error. Rounding out the sale are (90) State and Conservation items and (14) Governor's Editions from nine different states.

  • MISCELLANEOUS, (3) lots of Literature, and Cinderella material, including a George F.C. Smillie (of the famous family of engravers) proof and print of Woodrow Wilson.
