Mail Sale - February 21, 2018

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 1:00 PM, CST. The sale contains over 600 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • UNITED STATES, There are about (200) lots with over 80 of Classics & Banknotes with some rare and scarce items such as a no. 1a dark ("blackish") brown variety, several 10A w/varying plate positions, a very nice OG #68; a very nice group of 1869 Pictorials w/118,120, & 122; about (25) Columbians, Bureau issues and early Commemoratives; about (75) Washington/Franklin & 1920s Commemoratives with a VF 456 pair; and about (20) 1930 to current; many very nice items from which to choose.

  • COVERS, a nice selection of about (45) lots of Commercial, & FDC covers including some nice airmail covers.

  • AIRMAIL & BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (100) lots of Airmails and other BOB lots, with a very nice C3 corner margin block/10, a wonderful Parcel Post set/12 LH, and very scarce State Department "SPECIMEN" overprint set.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, about (25) lots with interesting selections of color varieties and shifts, perforation faults and other types of EFO's, also includes a 2479b, 19 cent Deer w/red omitted.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, about (65) lots with a variety of countries.

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior & State) contains about (160) lots: Junior duck stamps, Federal singles, Plate Blocks, Artist Signed about (12) a few PNS and Federal Errors. Also, (25) State lots; and several Governor's Editions (10).
