V. 1930" c.d.s., red German flight cachet, several Italian transits and backstamped Pernambuco, very fine; Italy was required to have proper franking for their postings but since they were not yet a treaty state with the Zeppelin company they usually had to have German franking, however Austria, which was next door to Italy, was a treaty state and their stamps were accepted, these are much rarer than the German frankings; Sieger notes that only five to ten items franked in this way are known; signed A.
