432 c Sieger #210y/214Aa imageSieger #210y/214Aa 1933 Italian Flight and Second South America Flight, attractive registered cover addressed to the United States, bearing 30l-120l Zeppelin set cplt., plus two additional adhesives, all tied by Athens c.d.s. of May 27, 1933, flown on the flight around Rome and then on the Second South America Flight to Brazil where it was forwarded to the United States, blue Italian flight cachet and green German flight cachet for the Second South America Flight, in addition to the red Greek connecting flight cachet, Friedrichshafen transit c.d.s., backstamped with the Rome machine cancel and Rio de Janeiro c.d.s., plus New York transit and Southboro, Mass. backstamp, slight gum residue on the front from stamps, very fine; the Italian Flight was actually run in combination with the Second South America Flight and covers addressed to South America automatically flew on that flight, however only very rarely were covers processed as two different flights with the Friedrichshafen transit c.d.s. and green German flight cachet, this combined with being addressed to the United States makes this an exceptionally rare cover; 2002 Simon BPP certificate (not listed thus in Sieger; Michel #304Gc; €2,000 for this specific usage).
