II, vertical pair with horizontal gutter between, a fabulously fresh and choice example of this inter-pane pair from the original sheet of 400 subjects, incredibly intense "fiery" color, outstanding centering for this scarce type, o.g., n.h., certainly extremely fine for this; this rare and seldom offered position piece appears to have been more readily available than many other gutter pairs which were issued only in error, yet Scott's value seems not to have stayed current when the sum of two n.h. singles (the price quoted here) is greater than the listing for the gutter pairs; photocopy of a 1995 PF certificate for a block of four, this being the right pair.
