1346 O 27b image#27b, 1868 6c Dark brown, watermarked paper, used gem single of this very scarce watermarked issue on Bothwell paper, easily seen watermark with full "&" and portion of the "G", unusually well centered with large margins and full even perforations, deep rich color with prooflike impression, lightly cancelled with numeral "7" in double circle and small portion of New Brunswick c.d.s., extremely fine; aside from the 1/2p, which is a great rarity on watermarked paper, the Six Cent Dark Brown is the scarcest of the regularly issued values on this paper and truly rare in such highly select condition; 2004 Greene Foundation certificate (Unitrade C$2,500.00). 1350 ogbl 34 image#34, 1882 1/2c Black, remarkable top imprint and plate no. 1 and 2 block of 40, being the top two rows of the sheet with vertical gutter between the two blocks of 20, full selvage on all three sides, o.g., over half of the stamps are never hinged including the two gutter pairs, some separation with sensible hinge reinforcement including the top right horizontal strip of three being entirely separated and hinged back in place, small oil stain mostly in the selvage just catching two top row stamps, but not affecting the gutter pairs, fine and a very scarce position; ex-Simpson. 1358 og/nhbl Unitrade #35, 35viii imageUnitrade #35, 35viii, 1870 1c Yellow, "strand of hair" variety, incredible example of this variety, being a wonderfully well centered example and the best centered stamp in a top margin partial imprint block of ten from plate "C", the variety is the center stamp in the bottom row, brilliant yellow color, full o.g., the variety and four other stamps are never hinged, the left pair has fingerprints on the gum, minor wrinkles in the selvage, centering ranges from fine to very fine except for the variety which is extremely fine and about as nice an example as is available; this plate flaw is the most significant variety on this value and is rare coming from only a couple of positions of plate "C", and even rarer in such choice condition and in a multiple such as this (Scott #35 var.).
