Greene collection), Trans-Mississippis complete to the 50c, the 50c being used, 20th century is more comprehensive and mostly mint, including a nice selection of Washington-Franklin issues with some nice stamps present, also a set of the 1922-26 Issue never hinged, plus White Plains souvenir sheet and fairly complete from there to 1940, air posts are complete mint for the period including the Zeppelins cplt. with two 65c values, also special deliveries, parcel posts and parcel post dues, plus a few revenues including some early hunting permit stamps, finally there is also a reasonable section of U.S. Possessions with some better, condition varies with some faults in 19th century, usually o.g. or used, never hinged found in later 20th century, many fine-very fine and generally better condition that often found in collections such as this; examine will prove worthwhile. 1284 ogngO Mint and used accumulation in three large boxes consisting of a consignment as received, mostly mint and used United States, but includes some foreign material as well, particularly mint and used Newfoundland, also some U.S. and foreign covers and FDC's, storage has been a problem and a fair amount of the material has been damaged to a lesser or greater extent by moisture, the result is that some of the material is perfectly all right including mint that is never hinged as well as the used, some mint is moderately glazed from being in mounts, some are more stuck in glassines or sheet files but sometimes can be removed with care, others are stuck to cards or have been soaked and are without gum, however there is considerable value here, among those things not moisture damaged we note numerous coil strips of the 1938 Presidentials and earlier, many with end roll strips, various 19th century used including officials with a #O112, plus mint plate block of ten of #O16 and imprint block of ten of #O15, plus first issue newspaper stamps, used coils include strip of four, plate number pair and line pair of #396, also many moderately priced singles and plate blocks, in the moisture damaged category Trans-Mississippis are complete to a nice $1.00 value without gum, numerous blocks and singles of the Washington-Franklins and 1922-25 Issue with glazing or stuck in glassines including a #505 color error in block of nine stuck to card, there are several better coil items including mint #350 and #353 guide line pairs with disturbed gum, but a #495 joint line pair that is never hinged, there is several hundred dollars worth of face value postage in plate blocks and sheets that is not damaged, but there is more than that stuck in glassines and sheet files including eleven $5.00 Moore plate blocks and numerous other dollar values, in the foreign much is Newfoundland and includes early imperforates, some stuck, a nice undamaged and very lightly hinged #C18 Balbo surcharge plus other better air posts are present, we also note a couple of three-color frankings of the early imperforate Napoleon issues on French covers to the United States, in all a most interesting and varied lot that will require some work, but with the considerable value that is present it certainly will prove worthwhile, examine. Est. 4,000-5,000

SOLD for $6,250.00
Closing..Nov-05, 05:00 PM
1285 ogbl/Pbl Mint block and plate block lot of a few hundred items on auction lot cards, some early blocks, much of the value in turn-of-the-century blocks, and some early 20th century plate blocks, many better items cataloging $100.00-$1,000.00 each, unfortunately, the lot became exposed to slight moisture, with some being affected by light gum glazing, however some of the items appear unaffected at all, on lot cards where more than one block was present, some have been stuck to each other (these are generally the lower priced items and were figured for practically nothing in our estimate), mostly fine-very fine appearance; despite the slight gum problems, there is still considerable retail potential here. Est. 3,000-4,000

SOLD for $4,750.00
