885 og 518b image#518b, $1.00 Deep brown, a most remarkable mint example of this very rare and often misidentified shade, being in a condition that is the exact opposite of what one normally encounters, as the vast majority are either poorly centered or with faults (or both), this example, however, possesses enormously large margins all around and is incredibly well centered within these vast borders, especially fresh and true deep brown color (actually the shade identification in the Scott catalog is a misnomer, as examples of this stamp must display hues of yellow throughout the design in order be correctly identified as a #518b), immaculate white paper, full o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine; this surely must rank as one of the finest quality mint #518b's available, in addition to being the largest margined example we have ever seen; 1978 PF certificate.
