282 ogPB 113 image#113, 2c Brown, remarkably handsome top margin partial imprint and plate "No. 27" block of eight, unusually fresh with brilliant color in the red brown shade with highly detailed impression, overall quite well centered for a multiple, full fresh o.g., lightly hinged in the right strip of three of the bottom row, the other stamps technically never hinged but with the normal gum bubbles typical of this hand applied gum, light diagonal crease at the extreme edge of the selvage, mostly outside of the plate area, mentioned for accuracy only, very fine and an exceptionally choice item for the 1869 Pictorial collector; Scott lists a full plate block of ten but does not price it because of the six recorded full plate blocks of this value, all plates are in multiples ranging from blocks of 24 to 120; this is the only item closest to a normal plate block configuration and one of only two recorded plate number multiples from plate 27; Chapin Census #319; ex-Ishikawa, Chapin.
