United States Stamps continued...

1857-1861 Issues
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
21 ng 19 image#19, 1c Blue, Ty. Ia, an extremely rare unused example of this type, completely sound, although centered into perforations at right, especially deep rich color and impression on bright paper, a fine example of a stamp that is missing from even the most advanced mint United States collections; 1984 PF certificate. (Image) 11,000.00

SOLD for $3,250.00
Closing..Dec-12, 03:00 PM
22 ng 21 image#21, 1c Blue, Ty. III, position 59L4, a seldom offered unused example of this rarity, being in far superior quality to the majority of most known mint/unused examples, as this stamp is notorious for usually being found quite off center, this particular copy however is exceptionally well centered and has much larger margins than usual, which allow for all of the important Ty. III design characteristics to show quite clearly, rich luxuriant color and a detailed impression, very fine; 1985 PF certificate; ex-DeSalvo. (Image) 6,000.00

SOLD for $2,700.00
Closing..Dec-12, 03:00 PM
23 O 21 image#21, 1c Blue, Ty. III, position 48L4, an absolutely gorgeous used example of this very scarce and difficult stamp, being in a condition matched by few others, superbly centered within margins that are unusually wide for this type, plus its color is especially deep and luxuriant, while its impression is particularly detailed which allows the Ty. III design characteristics to show exceedingly well, clean crisp strike of a central rimless grid cancel, an extremely fine gem; any used Ty. III is a terribly elusive stamp, but one in this remarkable quality is a true condition rarity; 2002 PF certificate. (Image) 2,500.00

SOLD for $4,500.00
Closing..Dec-12, 03:00 PM
24 ng 22 image#22, 1c Blue, Ty. IIIa, Plate 11, unused, fabulously well centered amid truly immense margins for a perforated One Cent, with no portion of the design being impinged by its perforations, an almost impossible occurrence, rich luxuriant color and impression, an extremely fine and impressive gem; 2002 PF certificate. (Image) 850.00+

SOLD for $1,100.00
Closing..Dec-12, 03:00 PM
25 og 23 image#23, 1c Blue, Ty. IV, a wonderfully choice example of not only one of the rarest mint stamps in 19th U.S. philately, but also one of the most challenging to find in any kind of acceptable quality, this particular copy being one of the few that exists both completely sound and still retaining its original gum, particularly well centered, especially as compared to most, sumptuously rich color and an excellent clarity of impression, full o.g. although it is just a bit disturbed, lightly hinged, very fine; a stamp that is on virtually every serious collector's want list; 1968 PF certificate; ex-DeSalvo. (Image) 8,500.00

SOLD for $2,700.00
