2563 ogc German Democratic Republic mint and First Day Cover collection, housed in two stuffed Scott Specialty binders, starts with some of the Soviet Zone issues of 1948 including n.h. 2572 ogOblc Transvaal specialized mint and used collection of hundreds of stamps including many multiples, of significant value are the Coat of Arms issue of the First Republic and the First British occupation, many of these are signed by various experts and/or are accompanied by various certificates, some of the better items we note include #50 mint with Holcombe certificate, #59a and #70a inverted overprints with RPS certificates and a #76c signed Rendon, also a mint tete-beche pair of #137b, plus much more, other areas of interest are accumulations of mint and used 1878-80 Victoria issues with plating notes and a nice range of red and black "1 Penny" surcharges of the various types, later issues around the turn of the century include the Enschede Arms issue with several plate proofs, large mint multiples of both the unoverprinted and overprinted issues, the latter includes some reference material with fake overprints, Edward VII issues are found mint and used to the £1 value, plus there are also some better local occupation issues of Lydenburg, Rustenburg and Schweizer Reneke, condition is quite good for this country, some faults are to be expected in the early issues with some unused without gum, however most stamps throughout have o.g. or are used, with a great number of fine-very fine; a remarkable collection for one wanting to specialize in this fascinating area. 2574 ogO Worldwide voluminous balance of a huge collection hinged in 43 Minkus Supreme Global albums, with some areas going up to the late 1990's, a real "Dr. Jekell-Mr. Hyde" type collection, with a large number of the countries being represented by only the modern issues or of fairly modest value, but there are also several countries that are quite comprehensive and valuable, most notably from Europe, just a couple examples are the Denmark, which contains both printings of the 1851 2Rs Blue, two mint examples of the 1871 2s Gray and blue perf. 12 1/2, plus other better items, and Monaco, with the 1F and 5F first issue mint, as well as the 1919 5Fr semi-postal, in addition there are strong sections of elusive areas not normally found in collections such as these, including Costa Rica (with Guanacaste overprints), Greek occupations issues, good showing of Greenland Polar Bear parcel posts, Philippines including U.S. overprints to the $5.00, Romania, and much more, while condition is a little mixed among some early issues, the overwhelming majority will be fine-very fine; because of the unusual nature of this collection, it is especially important to carefully view page-by-page.
