1010 c 1 #1, 5c Red brown, very large margins all around, especially rich color, wonderfully postmarked on an 1851 folded letter to Monroe, Wis. by bold central strike of a greenish blue grid, with matching "Paid" to right and superb "Mineral Point, WisT./11 Jun" c.d.s. to left, a post-territorial use of an old territorial designation, couple of trivial bleached spots in lettersheet, stamp has been lifted for examination and hinged in place, overall an extremely fine and lovely cover; a desirable and rare Five Cent 1847 usage from Wisconsin, with only eight Five Cent recorded usages from Mineral Point in the Alexander census; 1993 and 1998 PF certificates; ex-"Sevenoaks" collection.
