Ib, position 9R1E, a handsome and seldom offered sound example of this scarce type, margins are huge (showing portion of the sheet margin at top) to barely in at bottom, color is in a deep rich blue that is less often seen than the typical pale blue of plate 1 in its early state, this position is easily identified because of a rather prominent double transfer in the top label that shows very well on this stamp, light blue town cancel in a shade similar to that of the stamp making for a very pretty copy of this, nearly very fine; 1993 PF certificate. 22 O 6 image#6, 1c Blue, Ty. Ia, an extraordinarily handsome and choice used example of this important classic rarity, being one of only a few certified sound examples recorded of Scott #6, featuring very large margins at both top and bottom which are essential to fully identify the all-important Ty. Ia design characteristics, margins at sides are largely full, intense dark shade and a well incised impression contribute to this stamp's overall eye appeal, nicely cancelled by a portion of a blue grid postmark, completely free of the myriad of flaws which affect most known copies, very fine; the extreme rarity of Ty. Ia stamps is due to the fact that only 18 of 20 positions on the bottom row of plate 4 sheets produced this type, which shows a full design at bottom; 1994 PF certificate. (Image) 10,100.00

37 ngOc 7/9 image#7/9, 1c Blue largely used specialized collection of a total of 59 stamps, plus ten covers, this collection has been formed to study the various plates and usages, many of the stamps have been plated, a major item and the only unused piece is a top left corner unused block of five from plate 2, large sheet margins are present and two of the stamps (positions 2L2 and 12L2) show a large portion of the major crack that occurred in this plate, the block has faults including staining but comes with a 1973 PF certificate stating that it is unused, two used stamps of positions 13L2 and 23L2 help to reconstruct the largest portion of this crack, most of the rest of the stamps are Type II or Type IV issues from plates 1-3, these consist of twenty singles, ten pairs and three strips of three plus a block of three, there is also a single each from plate 1 early (position 35R1E) and plate 4 (position 90R4) that are Type IIIa, of the ten covers three have Type II singles and five have Type IV singles on local or circular rate covers, one with a Type IV single is position 41R1L showing a cracked plate at the throat, two covers have strips of three, a vertical strip is Type II and a horizontal strip is Type IV, there is also a cover from Hampden Sidney (College), Virginia to Little York, California (both very small towns) with a strip of three of the 3c Claret as well as 1c Blue single Type IV, this is a clean and attractive collection for the most part, nice cancels are present, largely fine-very fine or better for these, examine; four 1989-1993 PF certificates in addition to the certificate for the block mentioned above.
