1947 ng S.G. 113e imageS.G. #113e, 1909 £5 Deep blue on bluish paper, an attractive unused example of this great rarity, well centered; this particular copy from the Bradbury, Wilkinson archives in London was exposed to dampness or immersion in water during World War II, resulting in defusion of the original deep blue color to its present blue state as was the intention of the printers as a security measure against reuse, however the strongly bluish paper has largely remained as intensely blued as when issued except for the suffusion of the original color of the printing; small closed tear at top left, nevertheless of quite pleasing appearance, particularly with the bluing of the paper which is in a remarkable state of conservation, very fine for this; 1998 Holcombe certificate (Scott unlisted).
