482 c 323-27 image#323-27, 1c-10c Louisiana Purchase cplt., a fascinating registered cover to Buenos Aires, Argentina bearing a complete set of the Louisiana Purchase issue (three 1c values to make 23c rate), all tied by New York registry ovals, with boxed "Registered/Jun 15 1904/Madison Square Station/New York, P.O." magenta handstamp, registry label at top left, backstamped in Buenos Aires, however addressee was never found and letter was sent back, receiving a plethora of post office handstamps on back, including a violet boxed "Dead Letter Office", 5c and 10c stamps with natural s.e. on one side, cover with couple of minor edge tears and a small portion of back flap is missing, overall a fine and colorful cover perfect for the exhibitor of the Louisiana Purchase issue. 489 c 323-27 image#323-27, 1c-10c Louisiana Purchase specialized postal history collection, a wonderful assemblage of 70 covers all bearing values from the Louisiana Purchase issue, each selected by a knowledgeable collector for their interesting usages, there are twenty four 1c covers, twenty six 2c covers, two 3c, nine 5c and three 10c, additionally there are six more covers that have two or more different values on a single cover, noted are numerous usages on colorful exposition postal cards (some even with exposition station pmks), there are several exceptional advertising corner card covers, a number of foreign usages (particularly with the 5c and 10c stamps), multiple values on cover, etc., condition is generally quite nice with only minor flaws on some, overall fine-very fine; groups this large from this series are seldom encountered any more.
