761 nh 502c image#502c, 3c Dark violet, Ty. II, vertical pair, imperforate horizontally, extraordinarily well centered within very large margins, wonderfully fresh color and paper, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; certainly one of the finest of the reported 40 to 50 error pairs; signed E. Klein and accompanied by a 1993 PSE certificate. (Image) for hinged 350.00

Closed or SOLD for $750.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
762 O 502d image#502d, 3c Dark violet, Ty. II, double impression, the only used example of this error we have seen, in superior quality, being incredibly well centered within very large margins, great rich color due to the doubling, lightly cancelled, extremely fine; unpriced in Scott used; 1990 PF certificate; ex-Saadi. (Image) as mint 200.00

Closed or SOLD for $350.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
763 O 504 var. image#504 var., 5c Blue, double impression, a dramatic used example of this yet to be listed printing error, with clear and distinct doubling of entire impression, three very large margins, just a bit closer to top, light vertical pre-printing paper crease at right, otherwise very fine; we are aware of only four such double impressions on this value, all having come from a single block of four, this being the top left stamp; 2001 PSE certificate. (Image) Est. 750-1,000

Closed or SOLD for $725.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
764 nhbl 505 image#505, 5c Rose error, single error in a block of nine, brilliantly fresh and bright, lovely rich color, outstanding centering for this popular error multiple, pristine o.g., n.h., couple of vertical perfs. separated at top, extremely fine; actually quite difficult to find in this premium condition. (Image) 1,050.00

Closed or SOLD for $725.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
765 nhbl 505 image#505, 5c Rose error, double error in a block of twelve, incredibly well centered throughout, including both error stamps which are especially choice, rich color, pristine o.g., n.h., extremely fine; a gem example of the double error; particularly scarce and desirable in this outstanding condition. (Image) 2,100.00

Closed or SOLD for $2,500.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
766 O 506a image#506a, 6c Red orange, perforated 10 at bottom, bold "Kansas City/Mo." precancel, intense vibrant color, nicely centered, couple of mild corner creases at bottom left not mentioned on accompanying certificate, otherwise very fine for this enormously rare perforation variety of which only ten have been certified by the Philatelic Foundation; clear 1976 PF certificate. (Image) 2,250.00

Closed or SOLD for $1,600.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
767 O 508c image#508c, 8c Olive bister, perforated 10 at bottom, well struck "Hartford/Conn" precancel, rich color, trivial corner perf. tip crease at top left, otherwise fine; an immensely rare perforation variety that is seldom offered at auction; clear 1960 PF certificate. (Image) 3,250.00

Closed or SOLD for $2,100.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
768 O 509a image#509a, 9c Salmon red, perforated 10 at bottom, crisp "Reading/Pa." precancel, strong luxuriant color, couple of small corner creases of little importance as this is only the second example of this perforation error we have ever seen, fine appearance; still quite undercataloged considering the only other example known to us realized $6,250.00, plus the 10% buyer's premium, in a "Rarities of the World" sale (Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries, Inc., May 2001) despite having small flaws as well; 1999 PF certificate. (Image) 2,500.00

Closed or SOLD for $4,000.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
769 og/nhbl 511a image#511a, 11c Light green, perforated 10 at bottom, the lower left stamp in a mint block of four, being a magnificent and incomparable mint example of this rare variety, incredibly well centered, with strong fresh color and a crisp impression on bright paper, o.g., the three normal stamps with small hinge remnants, however the variety is never hinged, extremely fine; an extraordinary multiple which not only shows the transition from perf. 10 to perf. 11, but it also contains what is quite likely the finest example of this rare perforation variety in existence; 1982 PF certificate. (Image) 3,500.00+

Closed or SOLD for $4,250.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
770 O 512b image#512b, 12c Claret brown, perforated 10 at bottom, a spectacular quality used example of this enormously rare stamp, possessing outstanding centering which virtually none of the perforation errors of this period can boast, with lavishly large and balanced margins, fully intact perforations, neat grid postmark, an extremely fine gem; of the mere eight recorded examples (four of which have precancels) this is clearly the finest example of this rarity in existence; 1995 PF certificate. (Image) 3,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $6,750.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
771 og 515b image#515b, 20c Light ultramarine, vertical pair, imperforate between, fresh color, a bit off center as are all known examples of this very rare error, o.g., fine; one of the few certified pairs that has no trace of the blind perforations found on some pairs purported to be genuine; 1996 PF certificate. (Image) 1,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $1,100.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
772 O 515d image#515d, 20c Light ultramarine, perforated 10 at bottom, a choice used example of this enormously rare perforation error, wonderfully well centered within large margins, natural s.e. at right, bright rich color on fresh paper, light "Schenectady/N.Y." precancel, very fine; the recent sale of Thurston Twigg-Smith's used collection (Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries, Inc., April 2001) contained a slightly soiled and creased example of this rarity, and despite the aforementioned faults it realized $10,500.00, plus the 10% buyer's premium; 2001 PF certificate. (Image) 4,500.00

Closed or SOLD for $6,250.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
773 O 516a image#516a, 30c Orange red, perforated 10 at top, crisp central "Columbus,/Ohio" precancel, wonderfully well centered within very large margins, strikingly intense color on bright paper, without any faults which affect so many of the rare perforation errors of this series, a very fine and choice example of this immensely rare stamp; according to our records this is the only used example known, and there are only two mint examples recorded; listed but unpriced used in Scott, a mint single catalogs $5,000.00; 1984 APS and 1997 PF certificates. (Image) as mint 5,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $5,250.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
774 O 517b image#517b, 50c Red violet, vertical pair, imperforate between and at bottom, a used bottom sheet-margin pair of this highly important Washington-Franklin error, with "Akron/Ohio" precancels on each stamp, strongly shifted vertical perforations causing pair to be centered into the perforations at right (may be related to the production problem which caused the missing perforations), light diagonal crease at top left; despite the Scott catalog listing both a mint and used pair of this error, this is the only certified example in the Philatelic Foundation records and the only one known to us; according to the P.F., three mint pairs and another used pair were submitted in the past but all were determined not to be genuine errors, leaving this as the only certified "genuine" example of Scott #517b; 1975 and 2000 PF certificates. (Image) 7,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $5,000.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
775 nh 518b image#518b, $1.00 Deep brown, a pristine mint example of this very rare and often misidentified shade, possessing especially true deep brown color (actually the shade identification in Scott is a misnomer, as examples of this stamp must display hues of yellow throughout the design in order to be correctly identified as a #518b), considerably better centered than the vast majority of the small number of known mint examples, immaculate o.g., never hinged, very fine and quite choice; one of just a few never hinged examples known to us; 1990 PF certificate. (Image) 2,850.00

Closed or SOLD for $4,750.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
776 nh 519 image#519, 2c Carmine, an exceptionally choice mint example of this scarce and often faked stamp, incredibly well centered within uncharacteristically large margins, rich luxuriant color, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; seldom seen in this premium condition; signed and accompanied by a 1978 PF certificate. (Image) 675.00

Closed or SOLD for $1,200.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
777 nh 523 image#523, $2.00 Orange red and black, exceptionally well centered within unusually large margins, strong colors, unblemished o.g., n.h., extremely fine; especially scarce in this premium never hinged condition; 1979 PF certificate. (Image) 1,000.00

Closed or SOLD for $925.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM
778 nh 524 image#524, $5.00 Deep green and black, select top sheet-margin plate no. 8178 single, exceptionally fresh and bright, intense colors, well centered, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; a pristine gem; 1980 PF certificate. (Image) 350.00

Closed or SOLD for $575.00
Closing..Oct-24, 12:00 PM

780 nh 525d image#525d, 1c Gray green offset, double impression, bottom sheet-margin plate no. 9488 single, fresh, well centered, o.g., n.h., very fine and choice; quite undercataloged considering how infrequently this is seen. (Image) for hinged 27.50
