Banknote 2c, 3c pair, and 10c, franked at origin and showing "New York / 8" c.d.s. (Mar. 5) in red adjacent, representing full prepayment to a West Indies port, 10c for packet postage on British Red Ball Line packet Mandingo to St. Thomas and 8c for the Royal Mail Packet postage to San Juan, a unique combination cover and also the only recorded cover carried by the Red Ball Line (which operated from October 1872 to May 1873 between New York and Demerara) to St. Thomas, the cover is a little reduced at left and the stamps have some faults.
