Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
661 og 539 image#539, 2c Carmine rose coil waste, Ty. II, perf. 11x10, a particularly choice mint example of this very rare and notoriously difficult stamp, as the vast majority of existing examples are found terribly off center (often with the perforations cutting the design), this particular example is especially well centered for the issue, with uncharacteristically large margins all around, strong bright characteristic color, o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine for this; 1987 PF certificate. (Image) 2,800.00

Closed or SOLD for $6,250.00
Closing..Nov-18, 09:00 AM
662 nh 541 image#541, 3c Violet coil waste, virtually perfect centering which is most challenging to find on this stamp, unusually large margins as well, bright fresh color, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; scarce in this gem quality; 1997 PF certificate. (Image) 70.00

663 O 544 image#544, 1c Green coil waste, perf. 11, a phenomenal used example of this major 20th century rarity, being in a quality that is unrivalled by virtually any other known example, as its possesses physical qualities that are almost unheard of on this poorly produced stamp, which resulted in the vast majority having tight margins and poor centering, this exciting copy is the exact opposite of what is typically found, possessing lavishly large margins all around and being wonderfully well centered amid them, its color is especially deep and luxuriant and its paper is fresh and crisp, beautifully cancelled with a neat town c.d.s. rather than the more often seen machine cancel of the period, an extremely fine gem for the finest collection; one of the rarest stamps of the 20th century, with perhaps no more than 100 used examples known, and there is little doubt that the example offered here is among the finest, if not the finest in existence; the Scott catalog notes that they price mint and used #544's only in the grade of fine, and obviously the catalog value quoted bears little relationship to the value of such an extraordinary copy; 1987 PF certificate; ex-Lyons. (Image) 3,250.00

Closed or SOLD for $7,500.00
Closing..Nov-18, 09:00 AM
