1856 og S.G. #1/95 S.G. #1/95, The remarkable mint collection of New Republic 1886-87 issues, a fabulous assemblage of well over 200 essentially different stamps, collected by dates for all values, papers and embossing per the specialized listing in Stanley Gibbons, filled with many seldom seen stamps, many of which catalog £100 to £400 each, the greatest value is found in the dated issues, with 167 different stamps present, followed by a nearly complete run of the undated issues on both blue and yellow embossed paper, with some embossing varieties included; adding further to the desirability of this collection is its overall condition, being far superior to any other such collection we have seen, with very few of the faults so often associated with these primitive issues, in fact the vast majority have o.g. and are largely fault-free, some stamps with h.r.'s, mostly fine-very fine; we note several stamps have been signed by experts; unquestionably the finest and most comprehensive collection of these fascinating issues we have ever had the pleasure to offer, to duplicate a similar collection would take years to accomplish (Scott #1/64). £17,000+
