At the same time they called for a design showing the maximum variation in the border when submitting specimens of these two values printed in single-fugitive green and red. On July 4th we were asked for further designs as the Crown Agents intended to send as wide a selection as possible to the Government for them to make the choice. They wrote on Sept. 12th that the Govt. had chosen the ½d design of June 30th and the 1d of July 13th and instructed us to proceed with the engraving," very fine; ex-De La Rue Archives (Scott #58-59E).
